Working with the Community School for Music and Arts (CSMA), the PTA is bringing music classes to TK-2nd grades. Music lessons include singing, listening to music, and playing instruments.
In grades 3-5, students receive music instruction from Music for Minors where they learn the fundamentals of rhythm, pitch, and tempo. Activities include singing, listening to music, learning notes, and playing instruments.
Students in grades 6-8 may choose to participate in the Instrumental Music program funded by the Redwood City Education Foundation. Students may choose to learn the violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, or trombone.
Students perform in a number of concerts during the year, including the annual Music Festival at Sequoia High School at the end of the year.
