School Profile
Roosevelt Elementary School is a TK-5 school rooted in a tradition of excellence and delivering a 21st-century education based on critical thinking, problem-solving, technology, and collaboration. Students are challenged to work cooperatively, think critically, and present their work in front of an audience. Roosevelt follows the community school model that cares for the whole child by providing additional safety net, mental health, and wraparound support services through its on-campus Family Center.

ELA Up 69%, Math Up 22% Year-Over-Year
Roosevelt's ELA score rose from 16% to 27% in 2024-25 - a 69% relative increase in one year. Math improved from 18% to 22%. Science rose from 6.78% to 11.1%. For a school where 43% of students are English Learners and 22.5% have disabilities, these gains reflect meaningful instructional progress and the impact of sustained staff development and MTSS investment.

Roosevelt's fully credentialed rate declined from 65.6% in 2021-22 to 54.7% in 2023-24 - the lowest of any RCSD school. More significantly, 37.75% of teaching positions were without credentials or misassigned in 2023-24 - the highest misassignment rate in the district. For a school serving 43% English Learners and 22.5% students with disabilities, this is the most pressing equity concern. The district has identified this as a priority and is actively working to close the gap.

Roosevelt School was originally constructed in 1953 and completely modernized in 1995. Further renovations were completed in 2000 and 2002 through Measures A & B. Solar panels were added to the upper campus blacktop in 2019. The most recent FIT inspection was completed December 4, 2025.
Overall Facility Rating: Good
The campus earned an overall rating of Good on the December 2025 FIT inspection. The campus includes 33 classrooms, a preschool facility, a computer lab, library, two multipurpose rooms, staff room, two staff workrooms, three blacktops, three play structures, and a field. A 15 mph safety zone was added around the school in 2024-25.

Roosevelt's suspension rate dropped from 4.67% in 2022-23 to 0.24% in 2024-25 - a 95% reduction over three years and now well below both the district (1.27%) and state (2.94%) averages. Zero expulsions have been recorded across all three reported years. This is the most dramatic three-year suspension reduction of any school in the district.
