Kindergarten - Torres, Jennifer

Jennifer Torres

About Me:

My name is Jennifer Torres. I have been teaching in Redwood City since 2001.
I was born on the Pacific island of Guam, and I spent most of my childhood summers there with my very large extended family. I grew up in the city of San Mateo with one sister. I now live in Redwood City, and I have 2 children that attended Redwood City public schools.
The reason I became a teacher is because I enjoy making a difference in a child’s life. I adore watching the different expressions that children display when they have learned something new in my classroom. The students in my classroom are immersed in a program that is rich with life, love, and discovery. They encounter an adventure in learning that generates a lifetime of childhood memories.
As an educator, I embrace being a lifelong learner. I choose to teach in RCSD because I gain so much knowledge each year from the District's staff development programs. I am always open to integrating the latest and greatest practices with the tried and true best practices already in place. I recognize that in order to be a successful educator, I must constantly update my practice.
If you are interested in visiting my classroom, I invite you to contact the school office and schedule an appointment with the principal.
