About Me:
I am married to my wife Donna, and we have three adult children: Amelia (married with one child), Susannah (engaged), and Linnea (graduating from UCSD this spring). All of our girls attended Adelante school and speak two or three languages.
Outside of school I enjoy many activities including travel, hiking, and photography. Around the house I like to garden, read various fiction genres, sing in the choir, study finance, collect and enjoy black teas, and work on the computer. I’m a fan of the SF Giants and SF 49ers.
I have been teaching in the Redwood City School District at Adelante and Roosevelt schools since 2006, teaching math, science, ELA, PE, and photography. Before that, I taught in Brisbane as a music and computer specialist.
Between my teaching at Brisbane and Redwood City, I worked in high tech for Adobe Systems as the worldwide product support manager for Acrobat products, where I managed global customer feedback about our products. My experience in industry helps me teach students the way the world and job market works.
I’ve been teaching middle school at Roosevelt since 2013. I really like working with middle schoolers and watching them learn and grow so quickly.
I grew up attending schools in the Redwood City School District. I graduated from San Carlos High School, and then attended Cal State University East Bay. I graduated with honors, receiving a BA in Music, with a minor in chemistry. I am a lifelong learner and learn something new every week. I like to remind students that “not all lessons are learned from a book.”
