GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR DISTRICT CHROMEBOOK

- Connect the Chromebook to WiFi.
- If you are using a hotspot, set it up first. Follow the instructions on the “How to
Access the WiFi Settings in the Hotspots?” handout that was included when you picked up the hot spot from the district. If you are not using a district hotspot, skip to step B.
- Open the Chromebook. Make sure it is turned on, and plug it into a power source.
- You will get a message that says "Network not available."
- Below the message you will see a list of available networks.
- Select the network you are going to use (the one on your hotspot flyer or your own network).
- Enter the password if it asks for one.
- Continue by logging in.
Use the username and password provided with your Chromebook. The username begins with your first initial and the first four letters of your last name. It will end with “@kids.rcsdk8.net.”
Click “Next.”
- After you have logged in to the Chromebook, continue to
Clever.
- You will see the Clever login page. Click “Log in with Google.” This will take you straight to Clever.
- Your Clever page will have a row of Favorite resources and at least one Teacher Page. If you do not see any applications under “Favorite resources,” scroll down. Each student’s page will look slightly different. Do not worry if you do not see these same resources on your page.
- You will see additional links and bookmarks after you click on your teacher page. Each teacher’s page will look slightly different. Do not worry if you do not see these same resources on your page.
